The Direnzo DRZ03 Eclipse is launching February 12th 2020

I must admit after seeing the Eclipse online I chased the owner Sergio to be on the list of people to review one before the Kickstarter kicks off 12.02.2020

The reasons for chasing the early access was very simple, I loved the look of the grey black vintage eclipse, and I knew the watch would be quality all round, and the specs were my cup of tea also.

Straps:

The watch comes with:

– Oyster style, 316L stainless steel bracelet with curved (fitted) solid end-links and diver extension clasp.

– Marina Nationale nylon strap (Parachute style).

– Optional or “stretch goal” Tropical Rubber strap.

– Optional Dark brown vegetable tanned leather strap with vintage stitching.

When the package arrived I was really pleased to find 2 watches inside, one blue and one grey. My watch repair shop is situated inside a fine jewellers and the owner Peter who is a real watch enthusiast also, and guess what, he wears a lot of blue, so Peter tried out the blue one for a few days.

Whilst me being me I rocked the grey black in various guises over the weekend

Peter loved the blue watch but commented “I wish it had a date window” because he checks the date a lot it appears, where as I was indifferent about the date window on mine but loved the little detail how the lume pip on the seconds hand eclipsed the date every 60 seconds.

Overall

We could not find anything bad about this watch, the dial is great looking, the 3D eclipse works really well.

It is very well made with a good movement, the Sellita is fast becoming the ETA replacement and is a reliable engine.

Loads of strap choices and comes with a bracelet – an upgraded one from the sample ones I had.

The brand owner is caring and reliable with a proven track record of quality watches.

The price point is great, in a retail environment of bricks and mortar this watch would easily be worth twice the price.

A great project to back in my opinion.
