2018 has been a very interesting year from Brellum, Sebastien has increased his portfolio of must have timepieces with true style. The latest release “The Wyvern Classic Petite Seconde” does not disappoint at all.
We do not see many modern sub second watches these days, or if we do they are lurking in the background behind the ever so popular divers and pilot watches. (Chronometers not included of course), but I strongly believe that the Wyvern Classic is a true reimagining of classic timepieces, the 42.50mm case size makes it very desirable in todays market.
It is the detail that makes this watch great in my opinion:
- Sunburst Dial
- Domed Dial
- ETA based automatic movement
- Domed sapphire crystal
- Display back
- Shaped crown
- COSC certification
I love the visual balance of the dial as highlighted in the image below of the silver model, for me it is a perfect visual experience that I would never grow bored of.
I am yet to see one “in the flesh” but as an owner of another Brellum model I imagine it feels exquisite. The feedback on Social Media has been excellent since these started shipping, comments appearing from owners look like….
Wow!
and
I love mine! Wear it all the time.
The Brellum Wyvern Classic “Petit Seconde” is available on the Brellum Website for a very modest CHF1590.00 plus taxes. To put that into perspective that is roughly half the price of the Bell & Ross WW1 Argentium, and on a parr with Junghans and Longines for watches with sub seconds, but maybe not the same outright specs.

It is very clear that Sebastien at Brellum has, and is, carving himself a place with a very strong brand identity for classically inspired, functional, and high end watches.
Roll on 2019!
Brellum and Sebastien are doing incredible things at pricepoints that frankly are low compared to the market. I received one of (if not the first) Wyvern shipped with the silver dial and can say pics in no way do it justice. In person it is staggeringly beautiful. The great thing about Brellum is that when you buy one, it won’t be out of style in a few years. They truly are like reworking the classic designs in a modern wristwatch. The finishing work and quality on both my Brellum is far above watches at multiple times the price.
